Dear friends,
I have some news that I would like to share with you all. This isn’t about living my life through Facebook. It is about telling the news once to a 100 people and not having to repeat the news 100 times.
In January I found a ...lump on the side of my face. After tests they discovered it was a tumour in my salivary gland. I had the tumour removed 3 weeks ago and the scars have healed very quickly and successfully.
Unfortunately yesterday the biopsy results came back unfavourable. The tumour was malignant and I have cancer.
The next step is for me to go back to hospital soon and have another operation to have my lymph glands removed from neck. This will then be followed by daily radiotherapy at Poole hospital for 6 weeks.
I’m coping fine and am ready for the fight ahead. My knowledge of cancer is low and I am discovering new terms and information hour by hour. There are lots of things to consider like financial implications of work etc. but this will hopefully be sorted in time.
The support and love I have received from everyone this year, firstly with my mum passing, and then the tumour, has already been overwhelming.
Like I said it’s easy for me to get my head around each step but its Kerry and the kids that might need an arm of support at times.
Thank you again for all your love and best wishes – it helps to give me that extra boost of belief.
